AI Football Coach isn't a VC-funded startup or a faceless app. It's built by a dad at a real club in Brisbane - the same club where a Socceroo once started - because he couldn't afford private coaching for his boys. Here's why that matters.
Why I built this.
I'm a dad at Toowong FC, in Brisbane's inner-west. My boys play. Like a lot of parents, I wanted to help them improve - I could see the technical things holding them back, the plant foot, the body shape, the rushed first touch. But I also felt the gap between wanting to help and knowing how.
Private 1:1 coaching was the obvious answer, but at A$50 to A$100 a session - when you could even find a coach with a slot - it wasn't realistic for our family, and it isn't realistic for most grassroots families I know.
So I built the tool I wished existed. One that doesn't replace your child's club coach, but adds to them - giving a parent like me elite-level technique feedback on their own child's clip, the kind of feedback you'd normally only get from an expensive private session, plus a concrete drill to run together in the backyard that afternoon.
I'm also a developer working in AI, so I had the skills to build it properly. We use Google Gemini - the same frontier AI engine the big tools use - to actually look at your child's clip frame by frame and tell you, in plain English, what to work on.
This isn't a side project I'm trying to flip. It's the thing I use with my own boys. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for yours.
Toowong FC - a real Brisbane club.
Toowong FC is a grassroots club in Brisbane's inner-west - the kind of place where parents run the canteen, volunteer as line marshals, and the teams play on Sunday mornings. It's where my boys play.
It's also the club where Lucas Herringtonstarted - the Socceroo who debuted at the 2026 World Cup came up through the same local club pathways our kids are on right now. That's not a marketing pitch; it's just a fact about grassroots football in Brisbane: the path from a suburban park to the World Cup is shorter than people think.
But the reason this tool exists isn't Lucas. It's the parents I stand next to on Sunday mornings - the ones who want to help their kids but, like me, couldn't afford or find the coaching to do it. This is for them.

It's real AI, not templates
When you upload a clip, Google Gemini's vision model actually looks at it - frame by frame - analysing body shape, plant-foot placement, knee angle, and follow-through. The feedback is generated for your child's movement, not pulled from a library of generic responses.
It's an assistant, not a scout
The AI is genuinely good at spotting technique mechanics and giving you a drill to fix them. It can't read the tactical context of a full match, or replace the human relationship between a player and their real coach. We're the tool you use between sessions - not a substitute for one.
Your child's video is yours
Clips are processed securely through Google's enterprise API. We don't sell data, we don't share it, and it's not used to train AI models. You can delete your videos at any time with one click.
